Nesting Swans

We love walking along the River Itchen in New Alresford, and last Spring we were lucky enough to spot two nesting swans. One swan remained on the river, watching over his partner and keeping a close eye on us. I took a quick photo and we passed quietly, so we didn’t disturb him.
I was left with a real sense of awe, witnessing the grace and quiet strength of these beautiful creatures. That moment stayed with me and inspired this painting.
