Aprils Chalk Stream

I walk along the River Itchen every day on my way to my studio. I always pause to watch the wildlife, notice the play of light on the water, and gaze toward a little house that sits quietly on its banks.
This past April, the light was especially beautiful. The swans seemed to glow. I watched one in particular for a while and took a photograph. I couldn’t wait to paint it.
