Sharing Some Favourite, Local Loves!

Hello everyone and Happy Monday!!!

I'm feeling all the Autumnal vibes this week after a fantastic weekend down on the farm picking and collecting pumpkins and spending Sunday wandering through the forest, enjoying the beautiful, golden, low light and ever-changing, cosy colours!

I can't believe how quickly time is flying! September just flew by and now October is already becoming another incredibly busy month!

I've been super busy sending out your wonderful orders, creating new designs with my little artist and this weekend we also began recording a brand new and totally fantastic Youtube video (more on this to come!)

But before I start chatting about all that I wanted to give a great big shout out to some local loves, who made a special day in September, even more extra special!

This September we celebrated my parents Golden Wedding anniversary! The big family celebration, which had originally been carefully organised many months before, was suddenly cancelled due to new Covid restrictions, so we were all feeling a little down hearted. However I had made some secret plans and ordered some beautiful, handmade and thoughtful gifts through local makers and small businesses to help to make the day still feel extra special!

We received the first gift from The wonderful Joy Jotter which arrived carefully and thoughtfully packaged and I could tell that so much time and love had gone into hand painting and hand writing our unique commission. We had commissioned Helen from Joy Jotter to create an A4 handmade art piece, containing our parents favourite hymn from their wedding and decorated with yellow roses. The artwork Helen created was beautifully neat and delicate and painted onto a wonderful, high quality paper. My parents were completely overt the moon!

Helen works from her home studio in Hampshire. She began learning to handletter a few years ago when she started Bullet Journaling, then Bible Journaling.

Helen left a full time career after her son was born and hand lettering soon became a wonderfully creative outlet. After creating handmade cards for people, Helen started receiving commissions from friends to write things “fancily” and this is when she started to really think about what she wanted to do and Joy Jotter Uk was born.

Helen loves to share joy and love through her work and our special commissioned piece definitely brought so much joy to my parents special day!

On the morning of my parents special day, they received the most glorious bouquet from the talented and lovely Clare at Bloominclares . Clares' handcrafted bouquets are exceptional! With such attention to colour, texture and detail, my parents bouquet really brought the most wonderful colour and happiness to their day!

Clare has excellent customer service and creates beautifully bespoke floral arrangements that are unique and personal to you, using only the freshest seasonal flowers. Each bouquet is created with a colour palette and flower variety to match the season and we were amazed by the size and wide range of gorgeous flora and delighted to see how Clare incorporated my Mums favourite yellow roses into a beautiful, Autumnal arrangement. It really was a bouquet that had that extra wow factor and stood out amongst the rest!

Thanks to the customer care and attention to quality, uniqueness and detail, these fantastic two, local businesses helped to make my parents day so special and a day we could all cherish.

Since March I have made a decision to only buy from small or local businesses as a way of supporting my community and the wider community of makers/ artists and craftspeople out there, who are all working incredibly hard and go-over-and-beyond to create the most beautiful gifts!

Let's all support small businesses, support local, support artists and support handmade!

Big Love
