On a drizzly start to the week, it's crucial to keep our artistic inspiration alive. Often, the most significant creative sparks come from the smallest, most unexpected moments. It's essential to notice the little things around us that catch our eye, no matter how insignificant they may seem.
Today, as I eagerly awaited a delivery of new art materials, I found myself facing a day away from the studio—a frustrating interruption that could easily disrupt my creative flow. But life has a way of balancing things out, and today was no exception. My dad dropped by with some produce from his allotment, turning a simple visit into a surprising source of inspiration.
Unpacking the fresh salad leaves and beetroot, I was captivated by the intense greens and earthy purples. These vibrant colors served as a vivid reminder that even on quieter days, there's always something new to absorb and inspire us. Such moments of unexpected beauty can powerfully remind us to stay open to the world around us and how a simple break from our routine can provide a fresh perspective and spark new ideas.
And of course, they'll be part of a healthy lunch! This vibrant bowl, filled with salad leaves, courgette, and kale were all harvested from my community farm and my dad's allotment.
After lunch, I'm off to my local art shop to pick up a new sketchbook and, hopefully say hello to their adorable dogs. This journey is filled with busy days and quiet moments. I'm going to try to embrace them all, and let the small things fuel my creativity. Here's to starting the week with an open mind and an eye for the details that make life beautiful.
Happy creating!
